By taking this course, I have detected that research is very relevant to my everyday decision making, it subscribes to reformation in education, fundamentally in teaching and learning. It fortifies me from incorrect knowledge, and is significant to my success as I take on the challenges of life and career decisions makings. This electic approach plays a role in today's hypothetical landscape, which brings my field closer to my objectives. However, research causes me to remember the human element, and permits me to use the indispensible tools, methods, and evaluation for uncovering responses to topics of interest.

Nonetheless, my idea about the nature of doing research has changed by apprehending my concentration and creativity, as well as underscores the highly interactive and social nature of learning. In addition, I have contemplated ways to guarantee fair and just allocation of any gains of involvement in research, since it gives indispensable knowledge to use in making decisions on behalf of young children and families.

Certainly, I have learnt innumerable lessons about planning, designing and conducting research in early childhood, because they help me to make decisions when I gather knowledge as backing. Likewise, it assists me in attaining basic skills in those areas, so that I can appraise and value interests which agitate me, my profession, job, and community. Moreover, I will use my research skills applicably and thoughtfully to profit children for all focus and aspiration, to bring into existence concepts and outcomes that change the prospect for them.

Admittedly, some of the challenges I have encountered and the ways I met them are: By finding and using research effectively, while moving towards evidence-based professional practice. Moreover, encouraging colleagues to read critically, think about, and applying relevant research in their work with children and families. Also, advancing join forces between practitioners and researchers, and aids me as an early childhood educator to comprehend and use research, and to direct high standard studies that will answer important questions for the early childhood field.

As a result of this course, my perceptions of an early childhood professional have been amended by using research to dominate public policy, which will assist in the elevation of the advancement of a new generation of early childhood researchers. Likewise, encouraging researchers to conduct high quality studies that will give answers to important questions for the early childhood field. Consequently, I will be able to make decisions about whether a quantitative or qualitative methodology is most suitable for future study. Whereas, my determination is to identify the most appropriate and feasible research design and develop instrument for data collection. This purpose enables me to analyse the information collected, drew conclusions, and present findings in future reports.

Early Childhood Development Virtual University (ECDVU) Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), http://www.ecdvu.org/ssa/index.php, was chosen as the influential international website link that is dedicated to early childhood. Its mission is to supplementary improving African Early Childhood Development leadership competence as an indicator approach in subsistence of child, family, and society well-being, and expansive communal and financial evolution.
In addition to that, the Early Childhood Development Virtual University (ECDVU) Sub-Saharan Africa (ECDVU) is a novelty, and multifaceted technique to addressing Early Childhood Development dimensions construct and leadership expansion in Africa. Likewise, it is underpinned by a diversity of international, regional, and local organizations, including the managers of participants.

Some of the current international research topics for Early Childhood Development Virtual University (ECDVU) Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) are:

  • The new features in procedures to education and partnership, which is devoted to rectifying the standard of life for children and their families in Africa. However, prospectus solicits to attain this through working on a continued nepotism with Early Childhood Development leaders from across the continent.

This is an example of the effect on a pilot project conducted by the Early Childhood Health Outreach (ECHO) that involved families and children in the community of Calliaqua, a small town that is located in the parish of St George, on the island of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

In particular, the Ministry of Health, Wellness, and the Environment joined in partnership with the Caribbean Child Support Initiative (CCS); United Nations International Children Education Fund (UNICEF); Pan American Health Organization (PAHO); and support from Bernard Van Leer Foundation (BVLF), to converge the Early Childhood Health Organization (ECHO) concepts into the Primary Health Care System for children at risk (0-3), by establishing a two-year pilot project  in the Calliaqua health district, with a view of institutionalizing the Roving Caregivers Programme which was conducted in 2006, by extending its reach in a national context. Evidently, the Calliaqua health district was identified because of the following indicators: A very high level of poverty; the Roving Caregivers' Program was not existing in the community of Calliaqua; the unavailability of day care centers; and high migrant activities.

At the final stage of the pilot project, the children who were involved received stimulation, which placed them on an even platform. For this reason, when they entered pre and primary schools, they were well prepared and would have reached their developmental milestones. Children were assisted in areas of health, education, and social development by their parents, since they were empowered to do so. More importantly, the Early Childhood Health Outreach (ECHO) has a mission which provide non-formal early childhood intervention services to disadvantaged communities for families with children from birth to three years (0-3 years), to realize the immediate and long-term benefits of good quality early childhood development experiences.

My Personal Research Journey
Joanne E. Lynch
Saturday 18th May, 2013.

The subtopic I will be focusing on for my Research Simulation is: "The effect of diversity (positive or negative) on young children and families in early childhood education." The reason for my choice is that, as society matures into more linguistically and culturally diversity, and the controversy of bilingual education has changed into further legislatively transfiguration, early childhood educators have the reliability to comprehend how foremost to meet children's demands and how to supply effective early childhood education for all children.
Consequently, as an early childhood educator, I have been faced with difficulties when dealing with children who are of differing kind (diverse), due to not being competently prepared to work with them. However, I have the accountability to respect these children and families. Additionally, the expansion in racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity is mirrored in innumerable early childhood classrooms, and the diverse configuration of early childhood classrooms convey numerous confrontations, as well as countless possibilities to educators.
Undoubtedly, everyone is a consumer of research in almost every aspect of his or her everyday life (Drew & Hardman (1985). Therefore, the research chart produces new knowledge, and this in turn presents the possibility to become aware of unfamiliar preferences. Likewise, in this course, I am constantly engaged in learning new things, which add volume to my already acquired knowledge, to clarify doubts, and prepare ways and means for me to facilitate productive prediction and possible prevention modes.
Certainly, I do gather fresh information from my colleagues weekly. Nevertheless, if there is any insight that my colleagues can assist me with, during this process/ or with this course, I will be appreciative of it. We will continue with sharing information with each other, because each are has to teach one, since that is the way it should be.

Week 8 Final Blog Assignment - EDUC-6162-7

Joanne Erina Lynch

Walden University

Saturday 27th April, 2013.

With regards to my professional and personal development, there are consequences of learning about the international early childhood field. Essentially, this field encompasses childcare centers, nurseries, preschool education, Kindergartens, as well as similar institutions. For this reason, I became aware that early childhood education occurs in advance to compulsory education, be it as a harmonize part of the education system, or wholly unconventional of it.

Consequently, the early childhood field helps to revolutionize the lives of children globally, and its aim is to ensure that all young children enter school, so that they can succeed in life. Moreover, the process of covering the early childhood education span a variety of topics such as multicultural affairs, the sustainable development and learning of children, current affairs in the field of early childhood education and care, and questions concerning the curriculum.

Three consequences I have chosen are:

·        Attaining applied participation in the field of early childhood care and education, by achieving supremacy of the differing constituent areas, as well as learning to establish and attune learning conditions that enable all young children to develop to their extreme capability.

·        Networking weekly with my international colleagues, to impart explorations and conclusions on various issues and topics pertaining to early childhood care and education. This has enabled us to be better prepared to work in concerted efforts with families and other coaching experts, and professionals from affiliated disciplines and diverse backgrounds, in order to arrange for learning possibilities for children, modifying potentials and requirements in an array of context.

·        Target vulnerable children in societies with the most unfavorable conditions, and clear some of the misconceptions concerning the early childhood field. Actions will be taken to guarantee the rights of all young children to acquire access to standard primary education; for the early childhood field leads to a lifetime of achievements, and break the cycle of disparity that triumph in the lives of so many children and their families. Therefore, young children must be given the rights to quality-education, so provision has to be made for them to model the most of their educational moments when they enroll in school.

However, one goal for the field that is related to international awareness of issues and trends, and the spirit of collegial relations is:

·         To become the fundamental voice about research on children, childhood, and early childhood education across diverse communal and cultural environments, and highly subscribe to the universal consultation on advance education. Likewise, to construct an extensive early childhood education workforce, assisted by policies to coach and preserve quality teachers, administrator, and providers.
